The Textile Association (India), Karnataka Unit welcomes you all for The 66th All India Textile Conference on the theme 'Expanding Sustainable Limits to India's Positioning in Global Textiles and Clothing".

Karnataka is a major centre for Silk and Garment industries. It was also a good textile centre with huge mills; however, in recent years the number of large textile mills in Karnataka has reduced drastically. The Garment Industry which was concentrating in Bangalore and to a small extent in Bellary started spreading across Karnataka. The Textile industry has been asking for textile parks on the lines of IT parks. In July 2008 the Karnataka Government proposed to establish 11 Textile Parks to give a boost to textile industry in the State. With the new policy of the state government to make the state again a textile hub, the 66th All India Textile Conference at Bangalore is sure to help the industry and the country.

Bangalore is one of the fastest growing cities in the world with over 80 lakh people from different parts of the country settled happily. Bangalore is home to some of the most well-recognized colleges and research institutions in India. Numerous public sector heavy industries, software companies, aerospace, telecommunications, and defence organisations are located in the city. The sylvan surroundings of Bangalore with great National Parks, the city with beautiful parks, avenues, multistoried multiplexes and historical monuments has made Bangalore a most loved city in the world. In summer the maximum and minimum temperatures hover between 36°C and 20°C, while in winter the temperatures range between 27°C and 17°C.
